Requirements
A passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates is required for all visa types. No advance invitation letter is needed for standard tourist applications. Carry both a digital and printed copy of your e-visa approval alongside your passport for smooth arrival processing.
A note on visa agents
Rwanda's immigration authority has specifically noted that no single agent is officially authorised to process visas on a traveller's behalf outside the official Irembo portal or Rwandan diplomatic missions. Third-party services claiming exclusive processing rights, or charging significantly above the standard USD 50 or 100, should be treated with caution.
Sequencing with a multi-country trip
If your trip includes a Tanzania or Kenya extension, confirm which visa structure fits your full route before applying. The East Africa Tourist Visa covers Kenya and Uganda alongside Rwanda but not Tanzania, meaning a separate arrangement is required for that combination.
